If you have not heard of You+Me, you are truly doing yourself a disservice. This folk duo consists of Dallas Green also known as City of Colour, and Alecia Moore better known as P!nk, currently only have one album under their belt, but it has definitely left its mark and we want MORE!

Their debut effort Rose Ave. was released back in October 2014 to positive reviews making it to number one on the Canadian charts, number four on the Billboard 200, and number 1 on the US Folk chart. The magic this pairing has created is one that would be hard to match and with the success of this album it’s got many fans asking one question, “Will there ever be another album?” To be honest we don't fully have an answer to that. Both have had successful solo careers, and it is unknown if they will ever release a follow-up. Both have expressed interest in working together again if enough free time opens up in both of their schedules. Now while this isn’t something fans want to hear, it does shed some hope that a follow-up may happen. Green said in an interview with Officialcharts.com, "Working with her was just the greatest time of my life." He also stated in 2021 that he had recently written, “Almost a whole new record” for You+Me.

Why do we love them so much? The way their vocals mesh together is nothing but pure magic through and through, leaving you feeling at peace. Stephen Thomas Erlewine said, "sparseness suggests intimacy and the prevalence of minor keys ...suggests melancholy, two elements that make Rose Ave. feel cozy even when the music plays fairly broadly.” Overall this album gives you a lasting feeling of calm. It’s like these two were born for folk music.

“Break the Cycle” is the first track I heard off this album, and it captured my heart immediately. This Ballad is about trying to fix the wrongs of the past. P!nk stated in an interview with PopCrush.com, “It’s about patterns and habits and love and trying to do better, …“It’s about trying to understand someone else. You can let a person know that you know what they’re going through, or what they went through. It’s a gift you give that person.”

Since their album was released, they both have multiple solo endeavors reaching respectable levels of success, and as much as we love their solo projects, there is still a longing for a new You+Me album. Until that time we still have a massive catalog of amazing music from both Moore and Green to enjoy.

You+Me is available to listen to on Apple Music, Spotify, & Amazon Music.
